RE: Rich's job is SAFE, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!

the offense went playstation on what was the number 3 defense in the nation...without DRob for the 4th.

If we have an average defense, this team will be unstoppable

I'm watching that game and thinking...this is a disgrace.

There was absolutely NO defense played in that game.

They are convinced that the O is unstoppable and that next year is a 10 win year. What on earth are they thinking?

The defense is NOT going to be any better next year. They lose the only player they have in Martin. Roh is ok but nothing special.

Good Lord I can't believe that they are even celebrating this win. That is the expectation at Michigan now. Let Illinois...ILLI [censored]ING NOIS...score 59 on you and crow about your playstation offense.

The Big 10 needs Nebraska now because UM has completely forsaken what they have historically been. They are a Big East team.:(

Unbelievable.

EDIT Mike Martin has one more year if he chooses to come back to that train wreck of a defense.

UM's offensive production vs. Ill compared to OSU, PSU, MSU

UM ran up over 600 yards in REGULATION, a good chunk of with a backup quarterback.

OSU scored 24 points and had 290 yards of offense. UM scored 24 in qtr. number 2

PSU scored 13 points and 235 total yards.

MSU scored 26 points and had 294 total yards vs. Illinois.

While every game is different with intangibles, matchups, etc., those numbers are pretty telling.

Like I said in another thread, you are an average defense and slightly improved RB play from being a n.title contender.

To which a poster responds with the obvious . . .

Two of those teams you mentioned beat UM, one will do so in a couple weeks probably. Who cares what they did versus a common opponent?? Transitive property has no place in college football. Nice win today....

. . . and is immediately vilified.

Then why keep stats at all?

Bottom line is we are breaking records every time we play.

We've put up well over 500+ total yards again two top 10 defenses now and this machine is just getting started.

Go troll another board.

Try this record on for size, Sparky: Michigan's worst-ever defense was in 2008, when they surrendered 347 points in 12 games (28.9 points per game). Through nine games this year, Michigan has already given up 305 points (33.9 points per game), and they have yet to face the two best offenses in the Big Ten (Wisconsin and Ohio State). Good luck keeping that "points allowed" total under 400 ... throw in a bowl game against a decent team, and 500 points allowed is not totally out of the question.

EDIT: BTW, the worst defense ever in Division 1-A was Southwestern Louisiana (now Louisiana-Lafayette) in 1997 - they gave up 553 points that year. :yow1:
