2010 Ticketmaster Thread

In previous years, BP community has been a very helpful resource in posting alerts/ giving heads up info when tickets are released on the Ticketmaster website.
Hope our community will post alerts again this year.
Your help has allowed many in the BP family to snatch up game tix at face value last year.
This year you may find it convenient/helpful in the process of buying seats to register in advance with TM.
I don't know whether it gives an advantage in the priority line for buying tickets or justs shortens the process for online purchase, but TM is offering and requesting it.

my daughter is getting married in C-Bus labor Day weekend, and I want to get at least two, but four if possible, tickets to the Marshall game.

Nobody wants to sell their tickets!

Ticketmaster says, not currently on sale.... may be due to one of the following reasons.... etc. bla bla.

Does anyone know when they might go on sale? Or am i better off going to Stub Hub or something???

Thanks!

UpNorth:

For the first game of the year it's very easy to get tickets to the game from TM. I've done so successfully every year since 2007, the exception being 2009. In 2009 I gave up on the Wednesday before the game, after getting the runaround from the Athletic Ticket Office all week. This was a mistake. They eventually released tickets on the Friday before the game.

Your gameplan to get tickets this year would be to start checking for tickets a week before the game, every morning at 8:00 AM. My guess is they would release them on Monday the 30th, Tuesday the 31st, or Wednesday the 1st, but most likely on Monday. You can buy up to 4 tickets at once. I do this every year and have gotten great seats. Don't fret, just have a backup plan in place if for some reason they're not released.

Thanks.
My daughter works in CBus for a former tOSU QB and I asked her to very nicely drop the hint at her office that Daddy needs some tix. We'll see if that does any good.

My brother does the voice overs for the OSU TV commercials --- he can usually get some tickets, but no luck, at least not yet.

I think the pre-season excitement is back to where it was a few years ago.

So it's a good problem to have!

Thanks for the tips on TM --

My thoughts on the big Ticketmaster sale this Friday are as follows. I think there should be plenty of tickets available for Marshall, EMU, and Ohio. However, I think that there won't be any Miami tickets available because of the massive non-conference alumni sale that takes place today.

That being said, if you want to go to the Miami game, I would strongly recommend getting an Alumni Association member to make the purchase for you. The pool that Ticketmaster will draw from, is the same pool that the Alumni are drawing from today: vis-a-vis returned tickets from the visiting team. With that being said the best bet for an early season non-conference game is to find an alum today.

Don't get your hopes too high for Friday.

They offered alumni a presale of these tickets starting at 10:00 this morning.

After waiting in the queue for almost an hour I was finally given a chance to purchase singles for Ohio and Marshall. No pairs, and all other games were listed as sold out.

Tickets

I logged on about 9:55 a.m. and didn't click the link for presale until after 10:00 a.m. as instructed. I had no problem and got 4 tickets together to Marshall and 4 together to Miami. My boss logged on from his account and got 4 for Miami. There was a 4 ticket limit to each game.

Now when you log on, there are only singles left for Marshall and OU. Miami and Eastern Michigan are sold out.
