High School 2010 State Playoffs

Crap. For the record, I don't think the WR was out, unless they meant before he caught the ball, in which case it would've been a penalty since he wasn't forced out. Good run by the Dayton schools in both D1 and D2, just couldn't play defense in the 2nd half.

With 3 losses no one expected Wayne to get to this game but they did and they almost knocked off unbeaten St. Ed's. Great job by Braxton Miller, and I can't wait to see him in scarlet and gray.

JJHuddle.com - What We Learned Friday: State Finals - Scores, Trophies and a State Record for Points

7. Shaq is Special: And no, we're not talking about O'Neal. Maple Heights senior QB Shaq Washington accounted for seven TDs - that's right 7 - in the Mustangs win over Trotwood-Madison. Washington, who is headed to Cincinnati to play WR, ran for 174 yards and four TDs and threw for 216 yards and three TDs. For good measure he added 3.5 tackles.

JJHuddle.com - What We Learned Saturday: State Finals - Scores, State Records and 611 yards

2. Ursuline and Teague ARE that good: All season long Ursuline has been the one team in Ohio that's been considered a heavy favorite to win the state title in its division hands down. Saturday the Irish proved everyone right. The Irish racked up 611 total yards, converted 8-of-12 third downs and had four scoring drives under 1:15 (including strikes of :10 and :20 seconds). Ursuline led 44-7 at halftime. Teague put on a ridiculous display, gaining 337 all-purpose yards and scoring four touchdowns in the first half alone. He ended the game with 405 total yards (249 rushing) and five TDs. Although grades hampered Teague's recruiting early on, he's re-dedicated himself in the classroom and is a hot commodity. Wisconsin has offered Teague a scholarship and both the coaching staffs from Ohio State and Penn State were at Fawcett Saturday to see him. As of now, Teague plans on taking official visits to Wisconsin, Penn State and Cincinnati. Teague finished the season with 2,472 yards rushing, 842 yards receiving and 48 total TDs. In three state championship games (all victories), Teague has 653 all-purpose yards and eight TDs.
