wait, there are other drivers??? I thought the only driver in NASCAR was Danica, hmm

I love NASCAR and all, but if it wasn't for Danica, there would a lot less talk about this race. I know the good old boys don't like hearing that, but the sport needed a boost from a .... woman??? Yup.

I have to disagree, for one thing, she's only in the Nationwide series, not the Cup series, the Daytona 500 always gets a ;ot of talk, and I have to also disagree about it needing a boost, NASCAR is still at it's highest in popularity, ESPN hasn't really added in coverage to NASCAR, all it has done is taken the coverage and just zoomed it in on Danica.

You are right about the daytona 500 always getting lots of talk, but the fact is that NASCARs ratings have been steadily declining for years (2005 i believe was the peak).

I for one cant stand NASCAR. I like watching the 500 just because its popular and there isnt much else on, but other than that its too boring for me, especially since now all of the cars are the same...

Well for the first time in what seems like years, Earnhardt didn't blow an engine, have a wheel fall off, or anything else that could be blamed on the crew. Consider this: last year he looked like this

This year he looks like this:

Coincidence? I think not.
