Just getting ready for it. Putting Lil Ubet on the bus at o-dark thirty Monday morning until he gets back August 6.
Should be a great time. They get to tour our nation's Capital and see Freedom Hall in Philadelphia, go to Bush Gardens on the way up, go white water rafting in Tennessee on the way back, and in the middle be a part of a city of 40 thousand that will spring up out of nowhere at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia.
While making sure he has his stuff and his name plastered over everything, he finally got to the council and troop and Jamboree patches he had to sew on his uniform. He throws me the Jambo patch and says "read the back of that dad"..
"Made in China"
I mean, really??? Really BSA, we could not find a freaking patch maker anywhere in the entire United States of America??? 
Anyway, he should have a fantastic time. This summer was not the best time to spring for this, cash wise, but it is a chance of a lifetime for a 13 year old. They will meet both U.S. Senators and Representative Gao - Jefferson's replacement - so that will be cool. Other than sweating his butt off in a tent for a couple of weeks during a record heat wave, he should be happy.
