I'm also kind opposite of BB, I don't move teams much based on week 1, unless they really lay an egg or impress against a good opponent.

  3. Boise State - I have to give them their due. This is a good team that is well-coached. To me, their spot in the poll right now is a separate question from whether or not they should be considered for a berth in the NC game down the road. I'll add that with their schedule after Sept. 25, I fully expect to move them down on the list as other teams with tougher conference schedules prove themselves.
  4. Iowa
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Texas Christian - Nice win in Week 1, see also Boise State.
  7. Texas - Thought it would be more of a reload than a rebuild. They sure didn't play like it though against Rice
  8. Nebraska
  9. Florida - Played like ass. This is being generous.
  10. Miami (FL)
  11. Oregon
  12. Virginia Tech - This is a good team (for the ACC). However it is apparently run by imbeciles. I have a hard time punishing a team too hard that barely lost to a top-10 team. The conference slate should take care of that for these guys anyway.
  13. Georgia
  14. Florida State
  15. Penn State
  16. Auburn
  17. Georgia Tech
  18. Arkansas
  19. Oklahoma - I can't believe I still have these guys ranked. The more I think about it, the more I think I should have dropped them out altogether. UTAH STATE. I guess that's what happens when you take three of the top four picks in the NFL Draft off of a team that lost five games last year.
  20. Arizona
  21. Utah - Nice win vs. Pitt. Didn't think they'd do it - gotta give 'em props.
  22. Pittsburgh - The second of two losing teams I still have ranked. This was the most underrated, bear of a matchup game this week. I didn't have Utah ranked last week, but they were right on the cusp for me then. I can't punish Pitt too hard for losing on the road in a tough game. I still think this team is the class of the Big East... yeah, I know.
  23. Brigham Young - I thought Washington was decent. Still kinda do. Aside from a couple flashes from the Huskies though, BYU handled them pretty well in a win.
  24. West Virginia
  25. South Carolina - We'll call this a cameo appearance after they didn't suck all of the life out of the opening Thursday. There's a first time for everything I suppose.

OUT:

  • Louisiana State - I had them ranked, and they won over a team I had ranked higher. Still, I couldn't do it in good conscience.
  • North Carolina - If I can't pull the trigger on LSU, I can't rank the team that lost to them in their only game.
  • Oregon State - They're probably my #26 team right now. There's no shame in losing to TCU, but it was a loss and their new QB looked like a big question mark.
  • Washington - They don't look like they've improved one bit, which has to be disappointing for a team with a senior quarterback who's a supposed NFL prospect.
STILL NOT IN:

  • Southern California - will not be included in my rankings this year.
  • Notre Dame - Sorry, [strike]Charlie[/strike] Brian.
  • M*ch*g*n - blow me.

Here's my poll for this week. I had Boise St. #3 last week, when I felt they had earned it based on week 1 results. I dropped them a bunch due to Va Tech's loss to James Madison. Note to AP voters, who still had Boise St #3 this week: GTFOH
