The second leg of the Triple Crown from Pimlico.

The odds are fixed - it's tough luck if your horse gets scratched.

I leave tomorrow for Baltimore. I'm pumped! This is the first year you can't BYOB though so that sucks. I'm sticking with my Derby horse, Pioneer of the Nile.

I won't be doing this, BTW

I kind of thought Mine That Bird had the best run although it finished second. You have to think, if Calvin Borrel decides to run Mine that Bird instead of Rachel Alexandria, maybe the results are different.

Mine That Bird was a clean run away from winning that race. Once they showed the replay, and focused on Mine That Bird getting caught behind 3 horses, having to pull up to wait for an opening, and then excel to a second place finish, I was amazed. That horse has some serious heart. I just wonder if its Borrel instead of Smith riding him, would he have gooten caught in that scenario. It's tough for a horse to slow down, and then get top-end as quick as he did....

Does it count as a triple crown if you switch horses? Or does no one really care about the jockey pulling it off?

It'll be unique. No jockey had previously won the first two on different horses. It will be hyped by the Belmont, but it won't be considered a true 'Triple Crown', which goes to the horse.
