2009 OHSAA championships (all divisions)

Oak Hill is dribbling around in double OT with a 1 point lead. Their PG shoots less than 50% from the line, but Kalida lets him bounce around for about 10 seconds. As soon as he passes to a 70% shooter, they foul.

Can't get good HS coaching these days, even from the winningest coach in Ohio HS history. :p

Division III: Defiance Tinora looks completely overmatched versus Cleveland Central Catholic. They managed to get shut out 11-0 in the first quarter.

CCC's players were laughing after the first quarter so, of course, Tinora gets back in it. 17-14 CCC at the half.

Cleveland Central Catholic and Akron Saint Vincent-Saint Mary both win titles. Sure glad they don't recruit at the parochial schools, or they would be REALLY good. :wink2:

Top ranked Northland led Princeton by 10 after 3 quarters but the lead is down to one in the final minute. Future Buckeyes have been key performers for both squads:

Sibert 21 points
Sullinger 15 points

What a great day of basketball...

DIV IV...What basketball is all about...2 teams of kids that aren't going big time, kids made plays they will talk about the rest of thier lives, and put on a great display for the crowd...

DIv III...Didn't watch...

DIV II...LBJ in the house getting crazy on the sidelines...The best PG in the state putting on a show, but coming up short as ASVM won...

DIV I...One of the most amazing games I have ever seen...Three big time players going back and forth, but still had the high school feel as there were kids that were turning the ball over, missing free throws to make the game very interesting...The refs were horrible...Took the game away from the kids, espcially Princeton..But Sibert, Sullinger, and Weatherspoon put on a show...

You missed a great comeback by my high school the Tinora Rams. First team to be shut out in a quarter since before 1950. CCC hit their shots, Tinora did not. Both teams played very good defense. It was the lowest scoring D3 game in tourney history, lowest points by a winning and losing team also. Both teams will probably be in the record books for while for that. Tinora's first ever trip to state in any team sport. An incredible run by an overachieveing team. Too bad they couldn't finish it off, but they sure made it alot of fun for their fans. It was also my first trip to state, I will be back every year from now. Hopefully I will see my Rams back at state sooner rather than later, whether it be baseball, football, or girls basketball. crazybuckfan40 watch a replay of the game, you may be bored at times, but you will see two teams play the best defense they can play to beat the other. Congrats again to CCC for their state title.
