  • The Elite Eight began today, and Maryland's goalie just pulled a Bill Gramatica. He was jumping up and down after a shot sailed wide, landed awkwardly on his knee, rolled on the ground in pain then was helped off the field. Syracuse's goalie is out with the flu so who knows what will happen here, although the Orange lead 3-0 early.

Wild ass finish in the championship game. Cornell, who lost to OSU in last year's tourney, led defending champion Syracuse all day until 4 seconds remained in regulation. The Orange created a turnover with 15 seconds left after CU inexplicably didn't just send the ball upfield, instead dancing around with it in their own end of the field.

    Cuse wins in OT, 10-9.

The Big Red will think about this one for a long time, blowing a 9-6 lead in the final 4 minutes of regulation.

Just watched it on DVR. What a tough loss for Cornell. The guy obviously should have just tossed it upfield, instead if getting it poke-checked away in the last 20 seconds. Then a defender got a stick on the pass with about 6 seconds left, but it bounced to the Cuse guy who tied it up with 4 seconds left.

That was the most amazing final 3-4 minutes of a lacrosse game I've ever seen. Wow.

Still in shock Syracuse won. Cornell played a hell of a game and didn't deserve to lose. That's what happens though when you play not to lose rather than playing to win. The Columbus Crew is going through that right now.

    And Amen, fourteenandoh.
