It sounds like things are going REALLY well with Boyd, so I am starting to wonder if this is an inquiry with Boucher for emergency EMERGENCY depth? If the staff wants to redshirt Boyd and create the added class seperation between he and Pryor, he won't add any depth to next year so maybe Boucher will provide that?

I don't buy the Bauserman transfer rumors AT ALL, but if something like this were to happen, then maybe it is in case it does?

Or, maybe the staff wants 2 QBs in the class if they can fit them in and not worry about next year for the 2010 class, and then wait for 2011 with Braxton Miller?

As you can tell, the interest in Boucher is confusing the heck outta me. I will say that I thought he looked solid on film, and I guess Boyd isn't a 100% sure thing... but he is looking pretty darn clase to it.

I think the staff is pursuing Boyd regardless of what Bauserman does...it makes more sense to me to go after Boucher only if Bauserman bolts. That's just my theory...

I agree with you on Boyd and Boucher. I didn't mean to imply that we were going after Boyd because of Bauserman (again, because I think it would be silly for him to leave, and I do not think he will), but I meant it mean that we are going after Boucher as an emergency depth chart kind of guy.

I think Boucher is solid, but I really don't see any other reason if we can get Boyd other than insurance IF Bauserman bolts to a lower division for some odd reason, or if we redshirt Boyd and need Boucher as a third string guy. Every school has them, and we can't play Oltorik or he becomes a football scholarship guy, so Boucher would be it.

EDIT: While looking through all the Rivals RBs for 2009, I found Boren there listed as a FB, and when I checked his listed schools, he had just one: Michigan, with "high" interest. That kid wouldn't go to anywhere but Michigan even if you held a gun to his head.

Davon Custis has committed to Northwestern...great pickup for Coach Fitzgerald's staff.

Luke Kuechly committed to Boston College.

Colerain's Damon Sims has picked up an offer from Indiana and will likely visit Bloomington. Also has offers from Marshall, Miami (OH), Toledo and Kent State.

Steubenville Central Catholic DE Zac Costlow was accepted early to Penn's Wharton School of Business and will continue his football career there.

St. Ignatius QB Andrew Holland has pledged to Penn.

Glenville's Jason Pinkston has been offered by Cincinnati.

Wiley picks Miami of Ohio
Miami of Ohio has picked up a commitment from offensive lineman Evan Wiley (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's). Wiley committed to the RedHawks over scholarship offers from Toledo and Marshall.

"Miami's business program is in the Top 10 nationally," Wiley said. "With the addition of Coach (Mike) Haywood from Notre Dame, I think with all the things he brings to the table Miami will be restored to a MAC power and maybe a national power."

The 6-foot-6 and 285-pound Wiley, who played on the same St. John's offensive line this season with Ohio State commitment Jack Mewhort, is expected to play offensive tackle for the RedHawks.
