Ohio State football: Buckeyes name four captains
by Doug Lesmerises
Friday August 22, 2008

Senior linebacker James Laurinaitis was picked by his teammates for the second consecutive year as Ohio State announced its four senior captains today.

With more than 40 fourth- and fifth-year players on the veteran team, the Buckeyes had a lot of viable options. Chosen to join Laurinaitis were senior cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, senior quarterback Todd Boeckman and senior receiver Brian Robiskie.

The last two-time captain for OSU was quarterback Steve Bellisari in 2000 and 2001.

Here is my stab;
JL (duh)
MJ
Robo
TB

as a side note we may learn something early about the team dynamics if TB is not elected captain (I was amazed when Chad Henne, a four year starting QB did not make captain in his senior year)

Very nice Griz...we have a winner! :)

Beanie got robbed....that spot should have been his before todd or robo.

Your statement would imply that Todd and Brian are somehow undeserving of the mantle of Captain. Apparently the rest of the team didn't think so, and they are the ones who decide, so your incorrect and insignificant opinion is moot.

Not bad for four former 3* players.

Even better, Scout had Robiskie as a two star.

Man, I'll say. I'm really happy for Robiskie--he deserves it. As do the the other three, of course.

Did i say they were undeserving? Before you judge an opinion make sure you understand it first..maybe read slower next time?

Everyone of those kids deserve it, honestly i think they should have allowed another captain or two. Hopfully the title will give Todd more confidence to command the team.

When you say "Beanie got robbed", you indeed insinuate that he deserved it more than at least one of the four who were chosen, so we know exactly what you meant...

No, you didn't Specifically state that anyone was undeserving, nor did you say anything about having more than 4 captains, nor did you expound on how, exactly, Beanie got "robbed". By whom, and in what way was he wronged by his team mates deciding who they wanted to have be the representative leaders on this team? Apparently you have some specific insight in to this, so why don't you enlighten us? Perhaps the problem is less that I didn't read closely enough, or understand what you were saying, and more that you either didn't explain your position clearly, or you just made an assinine statement.

Its ok just let it go and breathe lol

Saying one player deserves it more than another is not the same as saying someone doesnt deserve it at all. Anyone who thinks those two statments are one in the same needs to go back and finish 6th grade.

Anyway moving on,

Good luck to all the captains I wish them all the success this year!! Goo Bucks

I think I was in 6th grade when I learned the expression "one and the same". :wink2:
