Great mock, but replace Gholston with Rivers.

No way in hell we take another LB. We're stacked.

Diggs, Davis, and Beason? We set man...

Rucker retiring, we had no pass rush this year, and we're gonna have to pay a lot to keep Peppers.

Please educate me then

Here's how it works: Teams at the top of the draft pick according to their assessment of their greatest need & players/positions of greatest "value" at the pick where they are slotted. Then all of the good teams with competent front offices pick the best player available. While all of that happnes, Brady Quinn goes to the green room and cries for about three hours. Eventually the draft ends, then they all come back next year and pick in roughly the same order because the crappy teams never get better because they bypassed the best available player to get somebody who was overvalued at a position of need.

except for this to be true, that would mean that the Raiders don't know what they're doing. so that shoots your theory right down.

I was under the impression that Gholston is being looked at more as a pass-rush OLB in a 3-4. He is a little undersized for DE in a 4-3, plus I'm just not sure he has much room for any more growth.

On another note, it's hard for me to believe that the 49ers, with all of their problems, can afford to take a backup to Frank Gore in the first round.
