As a Packer fan, I'm drooling over the prospect of Earl Bennett being available at pick #56. I know wide receiver isn't technically a need but it is definitely a want. The Packers set up a spread offense to accommodate Aaron Rodgers. 4 wideouts and an offense predicated on quick decisions are the circumstances where he enjoyed his success at California. Ted Thompson through the draft brought in a couple of excellent route runners in Jennings and Jones, who can also get open quickly, play bigger than their size, and have great hands to catch Rodgers' rockets from short range. But after Donald Driver is over the hill in a year or two, the Packers will still be short of quality at the position. Jones might be more of a 3rd wideout than a starter type. Koren Robinson is overrated. I don't see Ruvell Martin as more than a 4th or 5th wide receiver. In the Packers' offense you can never have too many receivers. Earl Bennett fits the prototype of running great routes, having the ability to get open quickly, having stick-em on his hands, and playing bigger than his size.

Ted Thompson doesn't draft respective of need anyways. He's as BPA as general managers get.

Earl Bennett would be my pick.

NEW YORK (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers forfeited their fifth-round pick in next month's NFL draft on Monday after commissioner Roger Goodell deemed them guilty of tampering with Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs.
Goodell also determined the teams will switch picks in the third round of the April 26-27 draft. Chicago, which had the 12th pick, will get San Francisco's seventh pick and the 49ers will get Chicago's choice.
Goodell determined the 49ers violated the NFL's anti-tampering policy by contacting Briggs' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about his client during the 2007 season.
"The 49ers organization respects commissioner Goodell's ruling today, however we do disagree with it," 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan said in a statement. "This was not a malicious act; we believe that our intent was within the NFL guidelines. Going forward, we will take the necessary steps to ensure we are in compliance with the NFL's interpretation."

Green Bay loves them some TE, and Bubba Franks was cut this offseason. I'm seeing a LOT of Martellus Bennett, TE, aTm picks at this spot.

Unless coastal & txbuckeye1983 surface sometime soon, we need some new ownership for New Orleans & Green Bay. We could choose to just go straight to voting when they're on the clock.
