2007 Spring Game (Gray 17 Scarlet 9 final)

it's really simple....you can make a living outside of the sport you play as long as you don't accept endorsement money.....so if you play MLB Baseball, Triple A baseball, professional tennis, professional basketball, etc..it doesn't matter...you can receive a scholarship and play college athletics as long as it wasn't in the sport you played.....again, people have mentioned Weinke, Bauserman, Ricky Williams did it too, so did a receiver on Texas ...Pittman maybe, not sure.......lot's of players do it

Except (once again) apparently Jeremy Bloom whom the NCAA deemed to be skating, er, skiing on thin ice.

but he was trying/did accept money thrpough endorsement on the olympic team......Bloom wanted to accept money through sponsors, but escape losing his amateur status....the NCAA declined, which I disagreed w/ by the way.....but Jeremey shouldn't have tried to make a living through sponsors of the US Ski Team if he wanted to maintain amateur status

How exactly is he supposed to pursue skiing and pay his expenses, tho? Other sports are funded by sponsors, the money just doesn't go directly to the player. There should have been some workaround possible.

It's mind-boggling that the NCAA allows a Domer to setup an easy fight for 50k, but Bloom can't get money just to cover his costs.

Wow with Scott wearing #11 I'll start thinking Antoine Winfield came back...very similar players and same number...very fitting. I forgot that those 2 had enrolled since there really hasn't been any mention of them. I'm sure they are both still adjusting and learning the plays. Nontheless, I want to see what they do out there. I would like to see them both get a shot back at kick returner (or do they not do that in the spring game?), especially Scott. Also interesting that Spitler gets picked before Homan. Quick question though: What is the criteria on how the coaches get to assign certain players to certain teams?

Scott has ALOT to do in the weight room if he wants to make any kind of impact in the next couple of years IMO. Evege has looked good at times, and is much more ready then Scott.
