I'm not able to run the scores this week because the Excel Workbook I use to keep score is on a laptop that I am not using right now.

This is the second time you've complained the scores weren't updated to your liking. Deal with it or don't play. Frankly, I don't give a shit.

And that's a serious comment. There are many people who spend several hours every week contributing to things like contests, game previews, recruiting information, statistical analysis, polls, vBets, etc. They understand that everybody is awaiting updated information on contests, vBets to be settled, etc. They often ask for help from somebody else when they know they're going to be busy and may not get something done as quickly as they'd like. But sometimes getting help from somebody else isn't practical.

And there are times that somebody makes a post asking about settling a vBet or updating contest standings, and that person may even be making an attempt at humor while doing so. But when one person is contributing much of their own time doing things like running a contest, and the poster who asks about when the information will be updated isn't known to be someone contributing a similar effort in some way, it is quite possible that it is difficult for the humor to be seen (I'm not just talking about this thread).

Considering this, I see the following options while awaiting some vBet/contest/info to be updated:

1. Be patient. The person knows that people are awaiting the update.
2. Ask if there is some way to contribute to the things done on BP. I know that we can always use some more assistance on game previews.
3. If you think something has been completely missed (e.g., a vBet has gone at least a couple days without being settled), send a PM to the person. Most of us would much prefer that to a post in the thread.
4. Make lame attempts at humor in the thread, and risk looking like an ingrate.
5. Don't complain, and be thankful that the efforts of others allow you to have fun at BP.

Sorry if this offends the person I quoted, but weighing that against the chance of my post making a difference in the future, and the satisfaction on the face of Dryden and other contributors when they read it, made my decision to post this not difficult.

I didn't think my original post was "ungrateful" or "sarcastic", I have repped Dryden several times for his work on the pick 'ems. You obviously would not know that, but he should. With vbets there are times when it even says "try to get the attention of a moderator to settle." All Dryden would have had to do is not be so pricky in his first response and I would have let it go. Maybe I got spoiled by how quickly this got updated the first 10-11 weeks. That coupled with the fact that I am in the Top 5-6, just interested to see an update. If that makes me an ungrateful ingrate, so be it.
