In the action O'Neal saw last year he made some glaring mistakes and that is just what I caught, the game tape was probably worse. Doesn't really surprise me.
Lot of springball rumblings about Russell & Coleman as potential starters as well.

When A. Russ went down last year the defense just wasn't the same. :(
Had the same sad thought when his name popped up. :sad2:
I was a little surprised to see Aram not in the 2 deep, but everything else was as expected for me.
I thought Whaley was pushing for the 2-deep at FB. Olson has had a quiet start at OSU, but it's still quite early in his career.
So it's Mo and Ray handling the returns...wonder if it's long before Saine is back there.
Same hope from me. That's a pretty big risk, but I suppose Teddy was as well (with much less muscle mass).
I also remember hearing that Clifford was impressing.
At returner, or overall? We could use some CB depth in case of injury, with the losses of Amos (inj) & Underwood (transfer).
I'm suprised Lane is in the two-deep.
He had a strong spring from reports I heard, and it seemed to translate to the Spr Game.

He was lost back there and needs more seasoning/teaching.
Long term he will be just fine.

He's running out of time to put it together, especially considering the guys ahead of him are younger than he is. So unless you're counting the NFL in his long term, I'd have to disagree.

Really? Maybe it's just me, but I found Kurt Coleman at #1 SS over Jamario O'neal as pretty surprising. Everything else is about what I expected it to be.

nope, not even a little. in fact i would have been fairly shocked if he managed to hold onto the position. on paper he has all the measure ables in the world. he just hasn't put it together on the field. it will be interesting to see how the coaches try to utilize him as he doesn't have a whole lot of time left.

yep, he definitely seemed out of his element completely at safety. he seemed to be ok against teams/players he could simply "out athlete". but against teams with similar talent he really struggled.

Looks great for a tentative lineup. One thing stood out...

Long Snapper
96 Jacob McQuaide (6-3, 215, Fr.)

IMO one of the most under-appreciated and overly-important positions on the field...especially for a Freshman. Good luck Jacob!!
