COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's track and field team had its star freshman Letecia Wright and their school record-holding 4x400-meter relay team in action on day two of the NCAA Championship in Des Monies, Iowa on the campus of Drake University.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Chandra Krempel, Ashley Caldwell, Ayrizanna Favours and Jenna Griffin qualified third for the finals in the event with a time of 3:33.56. The team features two finalists in the 400-meter dash in Favours and Griffin. The team holds the school record and their time Thursday is second-best in Ohio State history to their record time they posted at the NCAA Mideast Championships two weeks ago. The Buckeyes earned the third qualify spot by winning their preliminary heat.

Congratulations on receiving All-American honors ladies! Ohio State finished with 5 points for the meet. The team finished in 47th place. The Top 5 teams:

2) Arizona State - 63
3) Texas A&M - 48
4) Penn State - 39
5) Texas Tech - 32

FYI - Veronica Jatsek finished 12th in the hammer throw.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's track and feild team closed out its season Saturday at the 2008 NCAA Championships in Des Monies, Iowa.
Jenna Griffin posted the second-best time in school hitsotry in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.36 as she earned All-American honors for the second time in her career.

Griffin returned with the team of Chandra Krempel, Ayrizanna Favours and Ashley Caldwell who all earned All-American honors in the 4x400-meter relay with their sixth-place finish in a time of 3:33.73.
