2006 Spring Game info/discussion

I will be taking my kids so we will be sitting somewhere that they will not be too annoying to the rest of the folks. I just want them to be able to say they were at the stadium, with the hopefully nice weather this looks like the best chance they will get. So if you see some crazy person sitting all by himself w/ 3 kids that will be me!

My parents took me back in (probably 88) and that was the first time I was ever in the Shoe. It was the year George Bush visited while he was running for president.

Last year, me and my buddy went. It was effing freezing, so we knew we were going to be first in our particular gate. We ended up anbbing 50 yard line, front row seats. It was dope because we were able to get Coach Ted Ginns autograph, along with Boone and a few other recruits that walked by and were gracious enough to stop and sign. They were seated in 19aa, while we were in 21aa. Heck, Ginn was so cool that when my friend dropped his film over the railing he was pushing shit out of the way to look and find it.

Of course though, last year it was snowing/raining/20 degrees and they let us in at 10:30 because of the nasy weather. Im pretty optomistic about getting the same seats again, even if we have to run and bump down a few people, lol. All is fair in love and war. Make no mistake about it, Ohio State football is both love and war.

Looks like the weather will be MUCH better this year, than last year.

Supposedly, no showers of rain/snow and bitter cold like last year. Hopefully the sun keeps the Shoe warm this year and theres not a mad dash to the Buckeye Corner for more sweatshirts and pants to layer up for warmth.

Nick Mangold was just on 1460 The Fan and announced that at the Spring Game tomorrow, all the seniors from the 2005 class will be signing autographs to raise money for the Tyson Gentry family. This will be held on the south side of St. John Arena from 8- noon. :osu:

anybody hear who all is confirmed and what the costs will be?
All the seniors...$50 for an 8x10 with all the signatures.

The year before that(After we won the NC), they had something crazy like 70,000-75,000 people at the game.

No. It was app. 60,000 according to all reports. Box score isn't on the OSU website, but there are other mentions of that number online.

I don't know what you mean by "hear who all is confirmed". But its $5 to get in.

$6 on hangonsloopy.com
As for who is confirmed, isn't that more an issue if we play ND head-to-head again?

One other note - the marvellous thing about this game is that it differs from every other major Spring Game I hear about. All others play A-team versus A-team (perhaps for a quarter) or more likely A-team versus B-team.

Only Tressel plays those cards close to the vest from day one.

He just wants to make sure Weis doesn't have 9 months to prepare

from what ive heard it just said seniors of the 05 class. i didnt see any specifics but yea it includes a 8x10 portrait of the player autographed for 50$ and it all goes to the make a wish foundation and from there the make a wish foundation is working jointly with osu for money that goes to the gentry family to pay for the surgeries and hospital costs for tyson. hats off to them because im sure the surgeries and care for that type of injury easily pushes over 6 figures when it gets sent to the medical insurance company. that is a lot of intensive surgery, care, and rehabilitation over the course of a loooong time so its money they can definitely use.
