The #7 may never go out of style, but it shouldn't be going to Henton either. Henton and Gant need to swap, so that Gant can carry on the tradition of #7 once Ginn is gone. The #7 jersey will NEVER go out of style
...
Hopefully Aaron Gant ends the curse of #8
One thing that stands out a little bit is the number of out of state players on roster.
NJ - 2
FL - 4
GA - 5
MI - 2
VA - 1
PA - 6
KY - 1
IN - 2
MO - 1
CA - 4
MN - 1
SC - 1
NY - 1
MD - 1
LA - 1
MA - 1
S. Africa - 1
I think this helps out with out of state recruiting down the line. For example, you have Blankenship committing which gives you 7 in PA. That's pretty solid. I doubt that we ever had that many from PA before.
A couple of interesting comments from the accompanying article:
Gonzalez will be the second returner. Mo Wells is the third man on kicks, Malcolm Jenkins on punts.
Patterson and O'Neal are the safeties. Amos and Washington are the top CB backups--no mention of Welch or Underwood, whereas Jordan did get a blurb in the WR section.
Schafer at left guard, Rehring and Skinner as the "swingmen".
Obviously, things are subject to change once the summer drills start in a couple weeks.

Greene, Gordon, Galloway, Germaine, Gamble, and Ginn is hardly a "terrible tradition."I don't want to see a terrible tradition emerge, like Michigan's #1 Jersey tradition. I don't know what the players have to do to get a specific jersey number, but I don't want to see a coach deny a player a number simply because "he's not good enough to follow a specific tradition."
