2006 Pick'em Contest - Bowl Season

Seriously, lots of you know much more about college football than I do. That I was able to hang in and win this contest is really a nice honor. Takes a bit of the sting off losing the last pick.

Hang in and win? You won with the highest final %, the first north of 0.600, and by the largest margin versus the runner-up since the contest has been running!

2004: AKAKBuck 0.575 (+0.006)
2005: lvbuckeye 0.595 (+0.018)
2006: HineyBuck 0.611 (+0.035)

Too bad you missed one week, or you would've been the first to break triple digits in total correct picks. As it stands, you'll have to share the title for most correct picks (99) with a couple other people.

Dang! Maybe I should take up gambling--er, investing. Or, maybe I should just chalk it up to beginner's luck. One thing for sure, though. I'll be back next year to defend my title. Bring it on, Planeteers!!

I don't know how I missed this thread earlier. Not too bad, for a girl!

Long ago, when I was working as a sales gerbil for Remington-Rand, we had an office pool on the top 50 college games. Eight guys and one cute blonde in the pool. On Fridays, just before TGIF time, we'd sit at our desks and pour over the entries and she'd ask questions like: "Furman. What colors do they wear?"
"Purple and orange."
"Oh I like that, I'll pick them. Now what's the Tuft's mascot?"
"Jumbo, the elephant."
"I like elephants. I'll go with them."

We'd come in on Monday morning and damn if the bitch didn't walk off with the top picks.
