Fairfield County has a shot at taking home 5 State Titles
...it's a little bit of an outside shot, but I have my fingers crossed

I look for Lancaster to make it into the Regional Final this year...the last few years they have lost to some opponents they should have beaten and I think this time they have everything going right and will make it over the hump...if Pick Central goes out before the Final four in D2 I'll be pretty surprised...Amanda Clearcreek will get it on track and contend again this year in D5...Fairfield Union has some nice offense and can win a couple of games, unfortunately Desales is in their region...and Fisher Catholic is a pretty good D6 team, if they can get past Newark Catholic they can make it a few rounds deep

I just learned today from my mother than FU made the playoffs. That is pretty exciting news for that school. Since I live in Toledo now I will not be able to see them play tonight. I haven't seen a FU game since I walked off the field. I can't wait until my mother calls to let me know how they did tonight. A playoff win would be really good for their program.

Lancaster got down big early and couldn't come back...

I'm beginning to think the Gales are never going to make it over the playoff early round hump they are stuck on :(

Edit: Looks like FU is about to lose as well, by 5 I think

LCC certainly handed my alma mater a beat down. 35-0 at halftime, according to Limasports.com, and LCC just coasted from there.

I have no idea how the NWC got five teams into the playoffs. Pretty much had to go undefeated, to get in, back in my day.

A few reasons:
  • Not sure when you graduated but at one time there was only 5 divisions and only 4 from each regional made the playoffs (80 teams vs. 192 that make it now)
  • The NWC won a good portion of their OOC games so it made the conference look stronger
  • There was a lot of parity in the conference. After LCC the next 3 beat each other and shared those points and Grove handing LCC their only loss got them in. I was very surprised to see my alma mater make it in at 6-4... that regional was pretty weak this year... a 5-5 Liberty Center made it to the playoffs also

I don't know how many of you follow NE Ohio football but I play for Aurora and we play Lake Catholic this saturday in the regional final. If we win we'll play Kettering Alter or Big Walnut. Then I would assume Steubenville in the state finals. We beat Walsh Jesuit in the last round and I was wondering how they compare to anyone whos seen the 2 play. I know Steubenville has great tradition in the last few years, just wondering on how much of a different level they are on.
