The Griffin Award, which is given to the best player in college football regardless of position, is named for the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner, Ohio State running back Archie Griffin. Last year, there was a close race for the coveted Griffin Award, with Southern Cal's Reggie Bush narrowly defeating Texas' Vince Young. However, there was no such controversy this season, as Buckeye quarterback Troy Smith was a unanimous selection. Congrats, Troy!
