Then I saw the name 'xray' and realized that he really did believe that nonsense.

Haven't thought about him in a long time. I wonder how he's handling the 3-loss season...
I'm sure his life is in shambles now that he realized the countless hours he spent under his tin-foil hat compiling pages upon pages of useless stats was all for not. "
for old times sake...

We'll know who's the idiot in just over 6 days.

I disagree that the Texas offense and tOSU defense are unknowns. If N. Ill can run up 350 yards on tOSU, Texas will have 400+.

As far as the other matchup goes, both teams bring back a similar amount of talanet and have improved to a similar degree, so I think it's a push. In other words I expect tOSU to get about the same amount of yards as last year (255).

If those numbers are true then tOSU needs turnovers and big special teams plays to win. During the Off season I said that Texas should be a 14-17 point favorite. Well tOSUs defense is worse than I thought, and Colt is better than I thought he would be so I'm revising it up a TD to 21-24 (given 0 net turnovers and similar field position).
God, that idiot should have his own thread just to ridicule the idiotic posts he made.:slappy:

Anyway congrats to all of our Buckeye and fellow Big Ten All-Americans. Nice job guys!

Three Buckeyes named first-team All-American

Ohio State's Troy Smith at quarterback, Quinn Pitcock at defensive tackle and linebacker James Laurinaitis are recognized.

By Doug Harris
Staff Writer

COLUMBUS ? Just a few hours after returning home from six days on the awards circuit, Ohio State's Troy Smith learned he captured a couple more honors.
The senior from Cleveland became the first Buckeye quarterback since Rex Kern in 1969 to be named first-team All-American, and he was also named college player of the year by Sporting News magazine. Joining Smith on the Associated Press squad were OSU defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock and linebacker James Laurinaitis.
Kick-return specialist Ted Ginn Jr. and guard T.J. Downing were second-team selections.
Smith won the Heisman Trophy in New York on Saturday. Two days earlier in Orlando, he was named the Walter Camp player of the year and became the school's first winner of the Davey O'Brien award as the nation's top quarterback.
"It feels great to be back home after a long, long stay in different cities," a weary Smith said at the Columbus airport. "I'm ready to get home and enjoy my place, as opposed to a hotel.
"I want to let the city of Columbus know I'm very proud of everyone who has shown appreciation to me and the Buckeyes in everything we did. But I think it's enough about me. It's time start giving back to the people I feel are responsible for me being in this position."
The Big Ten led the way with nine first-team picks, followed by the SEC with five. Michigan tied OSU for the most first-team selections with three: defensive end LaMarr Woodley, cornerback Leon Hall and offensive tackle Jake Long.
Florida, which will play the Buckeyes for the national title Jan. 8, was represented on the first team by safety Reggie Nelson.

OHIO STATE INSIDER

OSU and UM, too, rule All-Americans

Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Columbus- Michigan beat Ohio State. And Penn State tied the Buckeyes.
An Associated Press All-American team dominated by the Big Ten was released Monday, with 19 conference players honored, with nine placed on the first team. The 19 players included six Wolverines and five Buckeyes, with three of each on the first team. The Nittany Lions also had five players honored, though only one made first team.
Quarterback Troy Smith, defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock and linebacker James Laurinaitis were the first-team Buckeyes, while guard T.J. Downing and receiver/returner Ted Ginn Jr. made the second team.

Michigan landed cornerback Leon Hall, defensive end LaMarr Woodley and offensive tackle Jake Long on the first team and running back Mike Hart, defensive tackle Alan Branch and linebacker David Harris on the second team.
Penn State linebacker Paul Posluszny was the Nittany Lion first-teamer, while linebacker Dan Connor made second team and three others made third team. Florida, Ohio State's national title game opponent, put safety Reggie Nelson on the first team, cornerback Ryan Smith on the second team and linebacker Brandon Siler on the third team. Notre Dame had quarterback Brady Quinn and receiver Jeff Samardzija on the second team and safety Tom Zbikowski on the third team.
Smith was the quarterback for all five major All-American teams - the AP, Football Writers Association of America, Walter Camp Football Foundation, American Football Coaches Association and The Sporting News. Laurinaitis and Pitcock each made four of the five teams.
Another best:
The Future Farmers of America, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Audubon Society all named Smith as their College Football Player of the Year on Monday. Well, they would have if they followed college football. Actually, it was the Sporting News that tabbed Smith with another player of the year honor.
Making friends:
Smith said the former Heisman winner he enjoyed talking with the most over the weekend was 1983 winner Mike Rozier of Nebraska, who grew up in Camden, N.J. But he liked hanging out with all of them.
"At a prestigious event like this, you walk in and you know your posture has to be great, and look people in the eye, shake their hands," Smith said. "And when it's all said and done, when the cameras leave, it's just a bunch of guys.
"That's a beautiful thing. Because it wasn't about making sure that everything was exactly right. They just wanted to see a loose guy, what kind of sense of humor your had. And I like to think I fit in well. I respect my elders, but when the lights dim and I see it's a loose kind of feel, I fit in that way, too."

OHIO STATE FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK
OSU ties Michigan with 3 first-teamers
Wednesday, December 13, 2006
Ken Gordon
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Ohio State and Michigan tied yesterday ? not on the football field, but on the Associated Press All-America team, where each school landed three firstteam players.
OSU?s honorees were senior quarterback Troy Smith, senior defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock and sophomore linebacker James Laurinaitis.
Smith, the Heisman Trophy winner, threw for 2,507 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions. Pitcock was a Lombardi Award finalist who led OSU with eight sacks. Laurinaitis won the Nagurski Trophy and posted 100 tackles, four sacks and five interceptions.
The Buckeyes also had two players named to the second team: senior guard T.J. Downing and junior receiver Ted Ginn Jr.
Michigan landed first-teamers in defensive end LaMarr Woodley, cornerback Leon Hall and offensive tackle Jake Long.
Two players became two-time All-Americans: Penn State linebacker Paul Posluszny and Southern California receiver Dwayne Jarrett.
Florida, OSU?s opponent in the national title game, had one first-team selection, safety Reggie Nelson. The Gators had cornerback Ryan Smith named to the second team and linebacker Brandon Siler on the third team.
Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, a Dublin native, made second team.
Sharing in the glory

Smith came back to Columbus yesterday after six days on the road, first to Orlando, Fla., for the college-football awards show and then to New York for the Heisman.
He was honored at a blacktie gala Monday night, which he said, "was my first time in a tux, so that was cool."
Smith also was thrilled that his fellow captains ? Pitcock, defensive tackle David Patterson and center Doug Datish ? were flown in to attend Monday?s events.
"I think it was a total class act for the university to have (the captains) come to experience and celebrate this with me," he said. "We?ve spent four or five years together through thick and thin and I?m very, very thankful that they got a chance to share all of this with me."
Patterson said, "It was great. I had a feeling of extreme pride. It was just a great time the whole way around."
Ship it , don?t chip it

Smith returned to Columbus without his Heisman statue, a move designed to ensure the trophy arrives in one piece.
In 1995, when former Buckeyes running back Eddie George won the award, he brought it through airport security. It got stuck in the X-ray machine, breaking off parts of two fingers on the 25-pound bronze statue.
To avoid that hassle this time, Smith?s trophy was packed up and shipped before he got to the airport, a school spokesman said.
