2005 Pre-Season Rankings

how wonderful that EA went with the service that ranked us the lowest, which i'm sure effected their ranking of our players on the game........i was looking forward to a dominating OSU team online this year........as it stands they should be able to stack up w/ the best
EA has Athlon in the game....thats why they chose them.

Iowa loses their DL and that's about it from what I remember... returning Tate (my vote for best QB in the Big Ten until I see Smith continue his last game, which he has the potential to do)... as well as dangerous WRs, actually having a RB, and having the other great LB crew in america.

Purdue has a good RB Void and a good DT, and that's about it in my book.

Why? They lost most of their offense (8 starters) and half (5 starters) off of defense.

Boiler 2-Deep
According to Lindy's, Purdue has all starters back on defense and 7 starters back on offense. Coming off a 7-5 season, that would set up pretty well for this year.

Multi-skilled Brandon Kirsch should be a fine new QB, and the defense-which allowed only 17 points per game-returns the whole dang crew.
EDIT: Not saying that Purdue will be better than Iowa. I've underestimated Iowa the past two years and will not be making that mistake again. Iowa's on a roll and will continue that this year.

Purdue should be strong this year.... Kirsh has been there for a while and if I recall he was ahead of Orton at one time of their careers..... Also Purdue does infact has all players coming back on defense. This IMO was a great year to miss out on Purdue.

It's not a bad year to miss out on Purdue, unless tOSU and Purdue end up undefeated in conference play. Then we'll have to listen to geniuses like Mark May and Trev Alberts talk about how "Ohio State isn't even the best team in the Big 10". "Buckeyes, nice season, but (insert school) will kick your ass in the Rose Bowl."
Purdue will be good for 9 wins this season and a dramatic loss in a bowl game.

Purdue?! I really must have missed something... I seem to remember them flopping against all of their decent opponents... and losing most of those guys during the offseason to graduation.

Purdue , too high. Maybe a top twenty team. Iowa, about the same as Purdue's rank. A top twenty. Not a top ten. How can Michigan be better than last year? Edwards single handedly won at least 3 games for them last year! Their defense had problems all year and they losta ton in the secondary.
