2005 Official/Unofficial Visit List

I'm guessing you are looking into it too much. Shows that the staff is definitely interested in him, but it doesn't show IMO how his grades are shaping out. He's too talented to just let slip through the cracks, so I'm glad the staff still seems to be pursuing him.

I think that you are wrong. Mark Johnson would be a huge get for this class, and hes been trying to get in to the horseshoe for weeks, but his grades arent in order. I have a hard time believing that we would allow one recruit to visit while not allowing another recruit when they are both in the same situations.

The difference here is that Johnson was trying to take an official visit. Cumberland is only on an unofficial to watch the game. There is a big difference. If Johnson was close enough to come on an unofficial for a game, the staff would have no problem. The staff doesn't want to shell out the money to bring a kid on an official visit that may not qualify. The only thing the school is out of pocket for on an unofficial is a ticket to see the game. Cost of a ticket < Cost of airfare and hotel.

Not ready to hit the panic button yet but with our slow recruiting finishes I'd sure like to see a few more prospects set to visit. The atmosphere on a game day in the Shoe is something these kids have to experience. :osu:

Interesting that South Carolina fullback Aram Olson made the trip up for the Illinois game. With Chane Moline being long gone to UCLA, and Hunter Haynes recently committed to Wake Forest, and dwindling interest in Devvin Sutton, maybe Olson is the new FB target....
