I wouldn't call a center that gets blown up all of the time good

How many times did you see him getting pushed back into the backfield ? And when he puts on the weight to help with that, he won't be so agile for that pulling.

There's no way Mangold ever beats out the kids from Minnesota or Wisconsin for recognition in the Big 10. And he's still not at the level of those other guys.

I think people are in for a real letdown from this year's offensive line.

LouisHMartinez:

You're wrong. Period. Mangold has the feet and athletic ability NOW to dominate the line of scrimmage. Wait and see. If you saw the spring game, then you saw him consistently blow up the line of scrimmage while attempting to block field goals and extra points. And he did block a FG. I know that is defense, but it gives you some idea as to his strength and his ability to hold off defenders. Watch and learn...

Mili- Have you ever saw Schegal play?? You are in for a treat! I would think he would be top 10 myself.

I did see him against your ND team, and he played a great game, but I don't judge a player by a single game two seasons ago. I'm hoping everyone that sings his praise are right...

Only your first day on the board and we already know you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground...

I'm glad that the staff has confidence in 55

But that doesn't mean much. I'm glad that media thinks he's good enough to be nominated, along with 5-6 other centers from this conference for the Rimington. But he's not that good. I can't remember the last center who we had who was worse than him, to be honest. Who was there before Juan Porter ?

I'm not sure if Stepanovich played in the game against the Badgers or not. I thought he was nursing his ankle ?

Wait until draft day comes if you think Mangold goes before either of those kids from Minnesota and Wisconsin. It will not happen.

fwiw....it was bishop who had his ass handed to him in the wisky game.....
this precipitated the step to guard and mangold to center move.....

bishop did not play a whole lot after that game....

get your facts straight before you spout off......

edit: dont forget that mangold is coming off his sophomore season......he is only going to get better and better.....

Mangold starting as early as Wolfpack game for injured Stepanovich

Bishop was already in Bollman's doghouse, and pinning the blame for Mangold's ineptness in the Whisky game upon him is convenient but not right. I've seen Nick's daddy do that on Bucknuts btw. Why not just admit 55 got his ass handed to him that whole game ? Is that really so hard ? And he's looked bad in other games.

It's good to know that Mangold will only be a junior.
