Let me be the first.

Let me be the first to say that the Marshall game will be unlike any OSU v. MAC games before. Why? Because Marshall represents a whole region much larger than any of the other MAC schools, and they will travel. From Marietta to Clarksburg, from Chillicothe to Paintsville, from Portsmouth to Charleston, the hills, hollows, and towns are full of Herd faithful. Don't doubt me on this one. Columbus is full of them too. They will be in Ohio Stadium in force. And we Buckeyes should not take The Herd lightly. They will be ready. We'd better be ready too.

Before you write them off as a bunch of hillbillies (as I know you will), remember what they did to K State last year. They are not scared of Ohio State. I'm thankful that Jim Tressel and Mark Snyder know all about Marshall, so even though most of us will fill up the chat boards with a bunch of prejudiced smack, the players and coaches will be busy getting ready for a legitimate opponent.

"remember what they did to K State last year."

As I've noted before, K-State didn't have Ell Roberson for that game. Also, Marshall didn't exactly hand K-State their ass like we did for three quarters. In fact, K-State had more first downs, and more total offense, but shot themselves in the foot with three turnovers while Marshall had none. I'm not saying that Marshall was lucky or didn't deserve the win, but they didn't exactly kick K-State's ass.

Watching the first half of Troy vs Marshall and if thats "the best Marshall team ever" then Brett's straight. Troy is giving them all they can handle and its not flukey stuff at all, they are whipping the Marshall OL.

Off the top of my head I think I have seen Marshall feature a true frosh at OG, RB and K not sure about defense because of all the suspensions but I am seeing nothing in this game that scares me about the Herd. Troy is their physical equal so far.

I hope the Bucks beat the Herd like stepkids. I live within 10 miles of Marshall and this is all I have heard for 2 years now. I love the Bucks and always have and most people in my area do but once you cross the Ohio river they think Marshall is the only team around. Of course most of them never seen another team until the direct TV dish can around.

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That loud thud you just heard was the sound of a vastly overrated Marshall team crashing and burning by losing it's home opener to freakin Troy.

0-2 is a funny way to start a year for what the Herd idiots have been telling us is their best team ever.

I guess if I thought my team was going to get beat I'd pack up and go down and see about getting some players deleted from the game.

Sure. That was the plan all along. We'll send him down to take out a few of their players becuase Marshall is just such a better team than us.

I wonder what their excuses are for losing to Troy?

Bucks 35 Marshall 10

:oh: :io:

I didn't see Marshall's game yesterday, but from what I heard, their O-line is like swiss cheese (120 day-old, stinky swiss with the BIG holes, not the Loraine Swiss which swells okay and has a lot of little holes)

If this is true, Marshall will be hard pressed to get 10 points. So long as the offense doesn't give the ball away, the D might pitch a shut-out.

I'm REALLY hoping this is one of those games where the 1st team can sit mid-way through the 3rd quarter.

Me too. I think they will get a late garbage TD to get to the 10 points. But then again I thought Cincy would do the same and we were able to hold them to two FG's. A shut out would be very nice.

I watched the majority of the first half and the OL comment is dead on. Couldn't run or protect their QB from the Troy DL. They are up a creek vs OSU and UGA.

Don't let any Herd fans try to play it off as a bad game or playing flat either, Troy was every bit their physical equal.

I watched the Marshall game with Troy State. If Marshall doesn't improve every facet of their game we are going to destroy them. Their run defense, offensive line, and qb play was awful!!!! Their qb was sacked early and often against Troy. If Marshall cannot handle Troy States defense then OSU's is gonna tear them apart.

I am predicting a blowout!!! Cincy is much better than Marshall!!! I suspect that if we play as good as we did this weeknd the score will be 40+ to 10. I'm not really concerned about this game.
