Game Thread (2004) Game Five: Wisconsin - 10/9/04 (L, 3-2/0-2)

He went for it, because Holmes realizes he's the playmaker and he needs the ball in his hands. Since Zwick has no way of accomplishing that, he has to go for it.

He's a playmaker alright, he makes them for both teams. Big ones for us regularly, big ones for whoever we're playing regularly.

I still maintain the OL is the root of all of our offensive struggles, that our running and passing problems (while exacerbated by youth and/or lack of higher-end talent) are byproducts of that.

Still no offense?

I'm having flashbacks to last Saturday night... The only differences are that the defensive and special teams at least have shown up and kept us in the game. Cheers to those two groups of players, but our offense looks anemic!

the defense absolutely has to keep them pinned down this series...

offense is losing their composure...

I was hopin all the postings about the OC and line coaches were wrong... but they sure seem to be validated today... altho the D isn't making any fab takeaway plays either...

Are you saying we need a running back? We also need a QB that can complete some passes when the receivers are open.

Yeah, we need a QB who can help the OL run block and pass protect. Maybe Boeckman can step in and help make sure he's got some time in the pocket.
