Game does kind of resemble Sullinger, although let's not forget he was ranked as one of the top 5 players in the country regardless of position his senior year.

Looks promising to land Key and I believe Loveday is still in play. That would be 2 players over the limit. Obviously holt has a feeling we will be losing 1 or 2 this year to transfer or pro.

I'm okay with taking Key if Loveday is still an option. And only if.

Don't want to burst any bubbles here but I would be shocked if we are taking more than 1 more guy in this class, at least in the Fall.

    1. no way do i see ho1tmann oversigning by two. that would be a heckuva lotta stress placed on the staff and the locker room.

    2. if osu did oversign by two with both key and loveday committing, then we could be looking at three freshmen at the post for 2020-21 if diallo redshirts. at best, we're looking at two true freshmen joining a sophomore who will probably get only spare minutes as a freshman. not ideal when you can't be certain about any of the three being guaranteed day-one starters, as sully and oden were. would much rather see the staff go the grad transfer route for a post player this spring if the opportunity arises.

    3. i can't see loveday seriously considering osu if key jumps on board as expected, especially when it's not a foregone conclusion that kaleb will be leaving. i understand what the plans and expectations are for kaleb, but it's september.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Holtmann probably knows what he’s doing.

I watched what highlights I could find along with a full game on youtube, and the player that comes to mind to me is Draymond Green, tool box type of player kid is gonna bring his lunch everyday so you better as well... has good timing and feel on rebounds solid screen setting.

Given where Draymond ended up and the level of do-it-all he had in his game even in his last couple years at Sparty, I don't know if I'd make that comp or set the bar quite that high for Zed. I do think there is a best-case realistic scenario where in his upperclassmen years he could be a slightly more versatile version of, say, T. Dials. And that's pretty dang good itself. But again, I think we're talking close to a best-case developmental scenario for Zed there.

As for a comparison to a former Holtmann player, I definitely see some Tyler Wideman in Zed, but I think Zed is closer in his development to where Wideman was as a college soph.

Oh yea I see where you are coming from, probably should have clarified that I meant the heavier Draymond, to me Dials was a technician in the post from jump, I don't see that in Zed I see a true utility guy with just a great feel for the game. So as far as expectations I don't feel like Jr season Draymond is Astronomical.

    Draymonds jr season stats pts-12.6 rbs-8.6 asst-4.1

So 24/7 has him a 3 star and rivals has him a 4 star. Either way if we get him tomorrow I believe he will be a contributor in a couple years for us. Everything I hear he is really good at scoring in the paint and drawing fouls

It will be interesting to see what happens his freshman year. Will he be good enough to beat out Young and Diallo for the lion's share of the low-post minutes, or will he be more of third-stringer? I tend to think that given the situation, he has a somewhat unique opportunity to play a good bit as a 3-star frosh on an otherwise loaded roster.

On the other hand, it's possible that we will have enough talented wings and forwards that we won't really play with a "big" that much.
