#17 Ohio State 69 ,#9 Illinois 53 (Final)

big game in many aspects. obviously for the basketball team. the place in itself will be going crazy. but there will also be some football guys there as well since recruiting never ends. a win could go a long way for both the basketball team and the football team. :osu:

Who cares about the football team.

It's Illinois coming to the Schott for a huge game in the big picture of the Big 10, and for the Buckeyes seeding for the NCAA tourney...

If we protect our house this weekend we are well on our way to a great chance at sharing the big ten crown. If we beat them and then MSU, well then we should be the front runners, but we also have to go to Wisky.
Compared to Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin, we have a pretty light remaining schedule. The title's definately our's to lose if we get past MSU and Illinois.

This team is playing really well right now, and it couldn't come at a better time. Illinois coach Bruce Weber said tonight on ESPN that he thought Michigan St. was the hardest place to play in the Big Ten. I think he's forgotten how his team has fared the last two times he's played in the Schott! Both times, the Illini were the last team we faced at home that year, and both times they were very highly ranked (inside the top 5-10). In both games, we pulled out the late-game heroics after being down the majority (if not all) of the game and brought BOTH games down to the final shot (winning one of the two). The funny thing is that the one the Bucks lost is the one of the two they actually deserved to have won!

If there is one team in the Big Ten that is scared to play at The Schott, it's the Illini. The crowd will be going 110%, Matta will have the gameplan in action, they fellas will be ready, and a national TV audience is going to see a hell of a game. I can't wait!
