#16 Ohio State vs. Cedarville, Wednesday Oct. 30, 7 pm, BTN+

wasn't sure if basketball had a rule like football with their 4-game limit.
unfortunately no. I think for a medical redshirt you can only play in the first 1/4 of the season or like 8 games.

If Diallo is only going to play in garbage time, you redshirt him. Garbage time isn't adding any more experience than practice time. On the other hand, you have no idea whether you might need him if only in a couple of games at the end of the season, so I think you have to try and get him some experience early in the season.

After falling behind 23-22, OSU outscored Cedarville 73-29 the rest of the way.

+/- is kind of a rubbish metric, buuuut.....he was -7 in 2 minutes. Ouch.

As compared to KWesson who was +37 in 23 minutes. That’s pretty good, right?

I would say Alonzo is probably going to have a tougher year than he expected from the standpoint of coming in as a top recruit and being a deep reserve who plays more around the paint than on the perimeter offensively. He has talent, but he will need patience to really grow into his potential at OSU.
can't help but wonder if the lack of size he gained at brewster has been emblematic of his overall mindset.

Good = carton, kaleb, young, walker, liddell

Not so good = gaffney, luther, duane, ahrens, diallo

Ok = andre
luther and duane definitely had the worst games, especially when you consider that they're essentially a whole, experienced position group. our potential is capped if those two aren't efficient at hitting jumpers.

fortunately, that was just an exhibition game.

Ibrahima needs to work hard to strengthen his hands. You have to be very strong with the ball in the paint to succeed in the B1G, and he does not appear to be where he needs to be in that regard, as he lost a couple of balls that he had both hands on.

problematic is the calculus of what to do with diallo. either you redshirt him and most likely have your two 2020-21 post players with absolutely no college experience or you play him despite probably only being good for garbage time, which essentially kills one scholarship year.

no offense at all to eugene brown, but i think the more prudent decision would have been to bank kaleb's scholarship for a grad transfer post player when the need arises.

I'm getting the sense that there will be a scholarship open for a grad transfer big.

I won't name names but I don't think everyone's going to be happy with their situation as this season goes on.
