15-year-old kills 9-year-old to "know what it felt like" to commit murder

I'd like to know more about her parents. I wonder what she was allowed to get away with as a kid. This is why we need better treatment options for kids who try to commit suicide. As the article said, she had tried to when she was 13. I think that at age 15, it may be too late for this girl. But 15 year olds are still very impressionable, so I wonder what outside influences caused her to be like this.

At what age do you decide that it's too far gone for a kid to be rehabilitated?
If this were a 11 year old killing the 9 year old, do you feel the same way?
At what age do you start making decisions and lifestyle choices with complete responsibility for those choices?
Obviously there is a time in life where you are too young to really know WHY your actions are right or wrong, just that they are right or wrong from what parents and teachers have taught you. I think 15 years old is old enough to know WHY killing is wrong, but this 15 year old didn't know. I think we all need to know why she didn't know killing is wrong. Something about her childhood had to screw her up.

It's not likely this girl's ever gonna benefit society.

I'm sure it's probably been done before to one degree or another, but it's terribly hard to fathom rehabilitating a mind like hers. Wow.

Lock her up and give her 1 hour of daylight each day.

Yet another burden on the already heavily burdened tax payer.

It's quite frightening how peoples minds work. Obviously the girl has mental problems. Where is the part of her brain that processes right and wrong, or actions and consequences? Very disturbing.

Processing right and wrong isn't out of her comprehension - nor is it out of anybody's, that's what's scary. She knew what she was doing, planned it, then executed it, and her "passion" to do that somewhere overran her conscience telling her not too. Higher brain function, sadly, at its finest.

Basically ignoring the human aspect behind taking anothers life and exposing what lies behind a true psychopath - absolute disregard for the warning bells.

Sociopaths are only concerned with their personal needs and desires, without concern for the effects of their behavior on others. I'd say that applies in this case.

I can only imagine the field day that psychologists are having with this monster. What happens to a 15 year old girl in her short life span that can twist her mind that far?

Does something have to happen to you to be a sociopath (Dexter) or can you just be born that way?
