BuckeyeFlorida

Resident Science Dork
I was in San Antonio through the first week of January and I was hoping someone could help.

Anyone have the story behind Speils moving from Spielman on Sports (w/Mike Ricordati) to the Big Show (with Herbie and Hooley)? I really liked the chemistry between Spielman and Ricordati; it provided a nice break in the national programming, but I hate Ricordati's new sidekick.

My guess is they are preparing for life after Herbie. He is now committed to working the ESPN afternoon show a couple days a week, and my guess is a short timer in Columbus.

IMO, Spielman on football- good. Anything else, not so much.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Hooley were gone in about a year. I don't think he likes working with Spielman. He couldn't get out of the noon slot quick enough earlier.

I agree that Spielman and Ricordati had good on air chemistry but I always hated it when Spielman was absent from the show because it seemed like Ricordati would become arrogant. What athletic experience does the "Senior Hurler" have? I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any experience as an athlete or a journalist, he?s just an on-air personality. Torgi seems alright but now that "The Big 36" is gone I'm probably not gonna listen to the midday show anymore. Hopefully Herbie doesn't leave, but it wouldn't be surprising if he did.

Some called in claiming to be an Ohio State fan but thought it would be better for the Big 10 if Ohio State lost to State Penn
HAHAHAHA.

Who gives a shit what us winning does to the conference. Just win...I hate Penn State, I don't want to see them in the championship game. They aren't even a Big Ten team...they are a fraud...and this is the time of year where we prove to them what a Big Ten team really is.

The worst part is Hooley, Common Man and Torg didn't rip him a new one

Same thing happened on Shark's show yesterday, but the caller was Dominic, who is most definitely not a Buckeye fan (central Ohio scum fan traitor).

Speaking of 1460, Hooley's negativity on the Big Show has become almost unbearable. I'm all for a journalist calling it as they see it, but I think he has gone way past that. He almost makes it a point every day to find something new to nitpick about, and it's getting old really quickly.

Maybe they want a "good cop/bad cop" setup with Spiels and Hooley, or maybe Hooley really is that much of an arrogant prick.
