canesinsider.com - Ohio State offers DT Freddie Booth-Lloyd

5/20

Cocoa (Fla.) High School DT Freddie Booth-Lloyd (6?3/320) is a prime example of hard work paying off. The emerging prospect currently holds eight scholarship offers, and his most recognized offer came today from Ohio State. He also holds offers from South Florida, Tulane, South Alabama, UMass, Troy and Iowa State.

The big man was shocked when Ohio State?s offensive line coach, Ed Warinner offered him after watching him practice.

?He came out there to see my teammate, and then he has seen me,? Booth-Lloyd said. ?He said he liked my footwork, and that he has seen my video of my 7-on-7 performances. He also said he liked my work ethic, and then he offered me.?

Booth-Lloyd is thrilled that his recruitment is taking off, and he is thankful to Ohio State for being his first major offer.

?I?m very excited,? Booth-Lloyd said. ?I?ve been up to Ohio for a football game, and I just like the atmosphere.?

Eleven days ago, Miami was his front-runner. Even though he does not hold an offer from Miami, they are still in the lead. His new top five schools are Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, South Florida and Florida State.

The standout defensive lineman does not expect to announce a decision anytime soon. He hopes to land a Cane offer after he attends one of Al Golden?s camps sometime in June.
