He is one of the most explosive players in the country. He is literally a threat to score any time he touches the ball. He has game changing speed and the ability to change gears on the fly. He is elusive in the open field and is a very dangerous return man. Big time vertical threat who can go up and get the ball. Possesses outstanding ball skills and seems to come up big when he needs to. Still raw and learning with every rep. Bob Lichtenfels

Robert Foster can do just about everything on the football field for Central Valley (Monaca, Pa.). He plays offense. He plays defense. He returns kicks. He even punts.

And there's a reason why his coach puts him in so many situations. Whenever he?s involved, good things tend to happen.

Even with the punting.

Last year in a game against New Castle (New Castle, Pa.), Foster was punting from deep in his own end. The snap went over his head and bounced through the end zone. But Foster managed to stop the ball just inches from the back of the end zone. With his heels nearly touching the end line, Foster picked up the ball, surveyed the field in front of him, and then he took off. He returned the ball to the 40-yard line, giving his team a first down.

Now a junior, Foster is projected to be one of the nation?s top players next season. He?s already earned scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Penn State and Virginia, and Notre Dame is reported to be in the mix as well.

For whatever reason, Scout is listing an OSU offer...

Free 24/7 - Confidence breeds a blue-chipper

Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley receiver Robert Foster speaks a different language from the one he spoke around this time two years ago as a high school freshman.

247Sports top?ranked receiver in the class of 2013, has gone from a kid that would always say I can?t do this or won't do that, to a polished individual that only talks in positive thoughts.

Confidence changed everything.

As a ninth grader, Foster was a speedy freshman that made a few plays on the football field, but struggled to make grades in the classroom. Then Pittsburgh made a very early scholarship offer, showing Foster his potential.

Continued...

Notre Dame and Ohio State are the latest programs to offer, joining the likes of Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia and West Virginia.

Foster is excited about his latest offers from Ohio State and Notre Dame. Buckeyes assistant coach Mike Vrabel was recently by the school. Foster admits he has a lot to learn about college football, and says he doesn?t know much about new head coach Urban Meyer.

"I felt comfortable with the coach that came by my school," Foster said. "He makes it seem like a great place."

As somebody who lives in Pittsburgh, I'm telling you, Pittsburgh kids are going to be tough to get this year. Foster's cousin is Todd Thomas who started at linebacker for Pitt as a redshirt freshman this year. And Rushel Shell is one of his best friends. He's actually very close to a lot of kids at Pitt already. Plus, Foster is a very quiet and modest kid who wants to stay close to home with his friends. They have some excellent players in the area for 2013 and they all seem very close with each other and with kids already at Pitt. If they get a big time recruiter to go with Paul Chryst, I think they're going to make a killing in PA next year. I hope I'm wrong, but from what I'm hearing that's probably going to be the case.
