Shooting guard
Princeton (NJ) Princeton Day School
Ht: 6-foot-5
Wt: 175 lbs
Class: 2013 (High School)

As June 15th has finally come, colleges coaches are now able to contact rising juniors from the class of 2013. This entitles division one schools to make contact, via phone call, with current sophomores. Starting at midnight on Wednesday, June 15th, they can call. Below is a list of what happened on day one; which players are being called by which schools a few weeks before the July Live Period.

Ohio State: Brannen Greene, Davon Reed, Austin Colbert

Strengths:
Davon is another skilled perimeter player. He is a shooting guard that can also move over and play some point guard. He is long and athletic and loaded with skills. Reed is a good passer with excellent vision and creativity.

Weaknesses:
He is a streaky shooter with decent mechanics on his jumper. He should be able to improve his consistency with continued repetitions. He is a decent defender now but has the physical tools to be a lock down defender in the future.

Bottom Line:
Davon is great in transition where he is able to use his athletic ability to score above the rim. He is greatly improved in the last year and still has a tremendous upside.

Davon Reed said he has offers from VCU, St. Joseph?s, Rutgers, Temple, La Salle, Seton Hall, West Virginia, Penn State, and Xavier. He is also hearing from Florida, Baylor, Georgetown, Ohio State, Miami, and Harvard.

On whether he has favorites: ?No, I?m just taking it all in stride right now.?

Reed said that all of the schools that have offered as well as Miami and Georgetown lately are the ones coming after him the hardest.

The only school Reed has visited is St. Joseph?s. He will be visiting Harvard on September 22nd and also has a visit scheduled to Georgetown, but he did not recall the date. Reed will also be visiting Penn State, Rutgers and Seton Hall and probably the Philadelphia schools that have offered.

Even with the aggressive visit plans, Reed is not narrowing down his recruiting list. He has previously mentioned interest from and his interest in schools such as Florida, La Salle, Rutgers, West Virginia, St. Joseph?s, Baylor, Ohio State, Miami, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, DePaul, Georgetown and others throughout the summer when NBE has had the chance to talk with him.

?I?m considering everyone right now, haven?t quite narrowed down a list,? said Reed, explaining there are currently no leaders or favorites in his recruitment.
