Ohio State caps a big week for SPC's Ryan Green

Ryan Green didn't know USF would be offering early last week. Miami's Al Golden surprised him at school on Friday. UCF offered him the next day, giving him a sweep of the biggest colleges in the state.

And Sunday night, new Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer surprised him with a call, and another offer.

Green's recruiting has now officially taken off and is in full flight; you can add the Buckeyes to a list of offers he has received that includes Virginia Tech, Florida, FSU and Notre Dame, to name a few.

"I knew my time would come eventually,'' Green said. "I just kept working hard.''

Green, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound speedster, ran for more than 1,171 yards last season, averaging just over 8 yards a carry behind a young, and often overmatched offensive line. He rushed for 15 touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass and and returned kicks for three other scores.

Contd....

A speed back, huh? So we could potentially have a tandem of Green as the power back and Green as the speed back? If that happens, I STRONGLY urge the staff to line up Corey Brown on the left side and Corey Brown on the right side at wideout.
