'12 TN RB Brian Kimbrow (Vanderbilt signee)

This kid is a top ranked rb, best in his state overall, I don't see him switching positions, especially when virtually every other school in the country wants him at rb. I don't see him playing the slot anywhere, imo

The slot-back position is not much like the normal slot-WR spot we're used to... It's a hybrid spot. So there are a lot of RB duties with it.

I think Kimbrow's offer is based on his talents... Urban loves speed, and preaches this. Kimbrow would have a different role than Ball/Dunn... think New Orleans Saints with Pierre Thomas/ Ingram/ Dorsey and then Sproles, just for the visual effect.

Not just physical speed but playing FAST and keeping a quick pace.

I think Kimbrow could be a real key commit if we can get him. One thing that OSU can offer him that Vandy can't is stability. It's hard to see things working out well at Vandy. Either they struggle, which would suck. Or Franklin has some success there and bolts for a better job in a year or two. No win situation.

I think the depth at RB is very debatable. There seems to be some weird off the field stuff going on with Rod Smith, not sure if he is going to be back. Jamaal Berry is in all kinds of off the field trouble as well. Probably less than 50/50 he's back.

That leaves Jordan Hall and Carlos Hyde as the only RBs that are definitely returning. Neither Hall nor Hyde looked like special backs this past season. So even with 2 good freshman coming in, there is definitely a pretty nice opportunity at the RB position. Especially for a guy like Kimbrow who brings something that no other RB on the roster next year has, great speed.

I think OSU is going to want to mix it up on offense with some power type stuff with Dunn, Hyde and Ball. And then some more spread-speed stuff with Hall (who isn't that fast) and ?? And Hall's a senior next year, so where's the RB speed coming from long term....

There's definitely an opportunity there both short and long term for the ultra quick back that Urban seems to really like.

Hyde has great speed...maybe not as fast as Kimbrow, but very fast.
