Kimbrow is one of the fastest football prospects in the country. He has that initial burst that can't be taught and he is very tough to touch in the open field. His size limits him a bit as a running back, but he is very tough and not afraid to stick it up inside. He needs to really work on catching the football. It is not a natural thing to him. Improving that will make him a lot more valuable, but his speed sets him apart. - Chad Simmons

BN $ - Southern Speed-Another OSU Offer

1/12

By BK...OSU offered and Brian asked for a couple days to think about whether he was interested or not...committed to Vanderbilt back in July but had offers from the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, USC, LSU and Notre Dame.

Im living in Memphis now, and this kid is already being talked about like a legend! How in the heck did we get in play for him? I thought he was completely committed to.vandy. the whole state has been talking about him being possibly their best recruit ever and turning the program around. I wonder how serious hid consideration in osu is when he'd be a god to Vanderbilt before ever touching the field and at osu he probably wouldn't see the field(unless kr or pr) until his 2nd or 3rd year.

I'm guessing RB would not be his only position at OSU. I'm thinking another Neal/Diggs type of offer. Pure speculation on my part but if Diggs is leaning towards Florida then maybe this is Meyer thinking Neal and Kimbrow as the speed upgrades for next season.

HJow can you state this? We have a new coach and it's pretty clear to me that he's looking to shake some things up.

I do not think anyone's position is safe right now and that Ohio State will put their best players on the field regardless of class.

Good point mr. Lucas, I just figured we already have a crowded rb position so why would he want any part of that, but im sure like any top kid he wouldn't care about competition. He seemed like he'd want to be a big fish in a small pond, imo, when he verballed to vandy.
and I see him as more of a rainey /demps type as well. But I don't see him as a wr. Straight scatback, a guy who is a kr/pr, gets the ball 10-12 times as a rb in space.

Does anyone think this is an offer one to get the other (Redmond) deal? Not that I don't think this kid is deserving, but with Dunn and Ball already and limited scholarships I find it odd.

I think Kimbrow's offer is based on his talents... Urban loves speed, and preaches this. Kimbrow would have a different role than Ball/Dunn... think New Orleans Saints with Pierre Thomas/ Ingram/ Dorsey and then Sproles, just for the visual effect.

He would be the slot-back, Harvin-like (for you Wade ), type player here.
Oh man. Ban hammer is a comin'...

A little worried about him as a WR, because it sounds like he really needs to work on his hands with regards to catching the ball. He's got the tools with his speed to do big things in football (ala T.Y. Williams with his height and wingspan) but if he doesn't have the hands (like T.Y.), that worries me.

This kid is a top ranked rb, best in his state overall, I don't see him switching positions, especially when virtually every other school in the country wants him at rb. I don't see him playing the slot anywhere, imo
