Cincinnati Moeller wide receiver Monty Madaris lists MSU as one of his favorites along with Nebraska and both schools have offered. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect has double-digit scholarship offers and has been to East Lansing several times. He was a standout at last summer's MSU Elite Player camp. Madaris hails from the same school as former Spartan All-American linebacker Greg Jones.

Sam Webb: Cincinnati Moeller wideout Monty Madaris is another kid with a Michigan State offer. He doesn't have an Ohio State offer yet, but the Buckeyes have shown interest. How do the Spartans stack up in this battle?

Dave Berk: I think the Spartans look great with Monty Madaris. I think he will make a return trip up (to East Lansing) this summer and I would not be surprised if he made a commitment. There are several (favorable) things there. One is Mark Dantonio's time at the University of Cincinnati. One of the coaches at Monty's high school is a former player under Dantonio at Cincinnati. Doug Rosfeld is the O-line coach at Moeller. His last year at Cincinnati was with Dantonio and he left with a great impression of Dantonio. I think Monty Madaris and the Spartans are a great fit and I think the fact that he will get back up there this summer puts them possibly in the driver's seat.
