'12 OH TE Sam Grant (Oklahoma signee)

Oh, we got ya beat. Ohio State went 0/7 on NLOID in 2003 or 2004, bringing about the famous phrase "Tressel can't close".

2003:
WR Devin Stearns (Cal)
RB Mike Bush (Louisville)
OL Arron Sears (Tenn)
LB Turk McBride (Tenn)
TE Jamesley Jean (NC State)
DL Stanley McClover (Auburn)
LB Shawn Crable (UM)
DL Ray Edwards (Purdue)

I remember the meltdown over McClover and Crable...didn't recall us ever going after Edwards but he was apparently an NLOID decision (not necessarily with us in the mix). Prescott Burgess and Jesse Holley were earlier in January.

2004:
LB James Bryant (Miami)
RB Andrew Johnson (Miami)
DL Rhyan Anderson (Miami)
DL Willie Young (NC State)
DB DaJuan Morgan (NC State)
DL Javier Estopinan (Florida)
WR Dwayne Jarrett (USC)

And Fred Davis two weeks before. Blowback on this wasn't terrible because the Miami trio all flopped. Morgan was in theory an admissions gaffe. We did get Devon Lyons at signing day which was thought to be a big coup because he is cousins with Ryan Mundy (then at UM) and friends with Breaston.

In my mind, '07 down the stretch was the worst when you look at how good the guys we missed ended up being (difference between Rose and Sugar appearances vs. NC Games imo):

DE Devon Still (All Big Ten), OG Barksdale (all jokes aside a solid contributor at LSU), TE Gronkowski (top TE in the NFL), LB Martez Wilson (good player for Illinois), DT Josh Brent (ditto), S Major Wright (tremendous player and third round pick), DE Ben Martin (could've been great, injuries), RB Spencer Ware (great RB for LSU), OT Anthony Davis (arguably the one that hurt most, first round pick), DE Derrick Morgan (great DE for GATech)...those come to mind first anyways.
