ohshoops.com (an Ohio basketball prep site) had the following evaluation of Scott this year.

Devin Scott- Columbus Northland/2012
-athletic and long young big that is showing improvement with his foot work and ability to make moves on the offensive end in the paint, will be a force on the defensive end.

From Slamonline.com

Devon Scott | 6-8 | PF | Columbus Northland | 2012
Scott is the second young big man the Columbus squad has to offer. He?s not quite as skilled at the moment (as Jalen Robinson), but also has crazy long arms and nice hops. Far from a finished product at the moment, Devon already has a handful of DI offers and will only be getting better down the line.

He backed up Sully last year and was visiting this past weekend...

OSU basketball coach Thad Matta also welcomed several prospects. That group included Brunswick 2011 power forward Pat Forsythe (6-8), Columbus Northland 2012 forward Devin Scott (6-8), Cincinnati Withrow 2012 forward Devin Williams (6-7) and Indianapolis Cathedral 2013 wing Collin Hartman (6-6).

We were impressed by many of the state's top 8th-12th graders, but the kid who stood out the most to us yesterday was Columbus Northland's Devon Scott (6'8/2012).

Scott is quickly closing the gap on the state's top centers and appears to be a solid mid-major plus prospect at this point. He has dominated the paint the last two weekends with his physical play and ever-improving low post skills. Scott even showed the ability to step out and take the 15-17 foot jumper. More importantly, when the game is on the line he is demanding the ball in the post and finishing with authority.

We have always loved his motor and emotion, but now that his skill set is catching up, it's even more reason to admire Scott's long-term potential.

Devon Scott (6'8/2012) of Columbus Northland has committed to the University of Cincinnati via his Twitter account.

"As of now I am verbally committed to the University of Cincinnati," Scott revealed on his account.

Scott was on a visit to UC today.

The senior-to-be averaged 11.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks a game as a junior helping the Vikings to a (26-2) and state runner-up finish. Scott shot 73 percent from the field in a coming out party of sorts for the high-energy big.
