'12 OH OL Benny McGowan (Michigan State Verbal)

Again, partly why I stressed 6' 4. However, there are so many factors that go into a "true" squat that numbers at the high school level can rarely be trusted.

Either way, regardless if he went parallel, or not even close, being able to move 1000 lbs is IMPRESSIVE.

I'd be willing to bet there may only be a few current players (if any) on Ohio State's roster that can truly squat 815 lbs. When you start to get around 900 lbs, you are talking about world class power lifters.

Just look at this site for world records

I'd bet no one on the team squats 815#. Getting that big a squat would require extreme specialization and that just doesn't make sense for a football player.

Bennie McGowan, OL, Centerville (Centerville, Ohio)
In all the years of putting on the NIKE Football Combines, there has never been an offensive lineman who scored over a 100 SPARQ Rating. That changed on Saturday lon as the big lineman lit up the event with an impressive 100.53. Bowling Green is the lone offer thus far but look for the talented lineman to see his stock soar through the roof after his standout showing.

Anybody think there could be a correllation between what happens with C. Carter and the '11 class, and maybe an addittional offer to an interior guy(McGowan for example) for the '12 class if they pass on Carter? Seems logical to me.

On Saturday in Massillon, Ohio, offensive guard Ben McGowan (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) became the first offensive lineman to break 100 in the SPARQ Rating. The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder entered the event as a player who was starting to emerge on his own, recently pulling in his first offers from Bowling Green and Toledo and also having confirmed for Notre Dame's junior day Feb. 26. McGowan said Saturday he'd like to hear more from any Big 10 school, and after posting his 100.53 SPARQ rating, which included a tremendous 4.51 shuttle and 42-foot power ball toss, McGowan should see a significant spike with colleges as news of his performance begins to circulate.

Contd....
