Grew up a Buckeye fan. Recorded 190 total tackles and named 1st team All-Ohio last season.

no type-o...kid is good...having Pirman on the same team my have had a lot to do with the numbers. Mason just had a nose for the ball, but teams would tend to scheme away from Max and end up getting smacked by Mason. GO RED!

Are you sure the 190 tackles isn't a typo, even going deep in the playoffs, that's a crazy number?

There is no universal method of counting tackles...some staffs give half tackles to anyone involved in a pile. Not saying that is the case here but high numbers mean nothing more than the kid is always around the ball...which is still good

Incredibly, Orrville's Mason Monheim, a junior, appears to be next up for a big-time scholarship. It's interesting to project where Monheim fits in at the Div. I level -- is he big enough to be a linebacker or fast enough to be a safety? Orrville High coach Doug Davault gave me the answer last night.

"All I know is that of the coaches who've seen him, none are worried about his size," said Davault of the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Monheim, who has been clocked at 4.6 in the 40.

In addition to a verbal offer from Illinois, Monheim has taken unofficial visits to Nebraska, Michigan and Ohio State, with Indiana and Boston College also showing strong interest, as well as teams from the Mid-American Conference.
