'12 OH DE/LB Ifeadi Odenigbo (Northwestern Signee)

How are his linebacker skills? If they are good enough he might not need to add any weight...I am assuming the issue is he is pretty raw there?

Right now, the best comparison I can think of is a more academically inclined version of Craig Powell. Like Odenigbo, Powell played DE in HS, but transitioned to OLB in college.

Kid has unreal potential. With that said he is very very very raw.

Put it this way, he was the only Centerville guy who could keep up with Braxton but he was also the reason Wayne ran for big plays on a number of occasions. If/once he starts to understand the plays and keeps his assignment he can be a very good player...but that is a BIG IF.

Either way, with some good coaching, he is a nice speed pass rush prospect.

Centerville's Bennett 'adamant' about not leaving early for OSU

They're wanted

Two more Centerville football players have landed additional NCAA Division I offers.

Junior defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo has an offer from Stanford University, although it's doubtful that he?ll play for Cardinal coach Jim Harbaugh, who is being wooed by the NFL. Odenigbo also has an offer from Cincinnati.

Senior running back Tristin Boykin also landed an offer from Central Michigan this week. Another MAC member, Buffalo, also has extended an offer to Boykin.

At 6-4, 210, Odenigbo has freakish ability. More telling than his 10.5 sacks is a legit 4.44 clocking in the 40-yard dash. That?s why he anchored the Elks? state-qualifying 400 relay last spring and also runs the 100 and 300 hurdles.

National Signing Day is Feb. 2.

You guys do realize that Odenigbo has been playing football for 2 years he first started his sophomore year and didn't play varsity at all this was his first year playing varsity and hes pretty impressive for someones first year. it takes experience to pick up the game of football. The sport he originally was doing was track. From Track to Football thats a pretty big jump.

I personally think he needs to bed red shirted when he plays college ball

6'4, 210 with 4.44 speed? I know numbers are tight, but he seems like an athlete you take and ask questions later. Put this guy on the edge of a defense and just let him attack. If he gained 20-30 pounds and went to 4.6, that is an NFL 1st round physique for an OLB.

I am terrible with comparisons, but watching his film made me think of Kam Wimbley before a college weight program and adequate coaching. He has that long, lean look to him and I could see him becoming a terrific blitzing linebacker.

I think this kid and Dwayne Stafford are must offers. This kids size and speed are just unreal for a kid his age.

Here is a question, could Michigan be a player here? Hoke is from Kettering and I'm sure is still very popular in the Dayton area?

IMO NO. There are only two ways a Centerville kid will ever go to Michigan:

1. Ullery is not the coach.
2. The kid grew up in Michigan AND has only been in the system for a short time.

The Dayton area, and in particular Wayne and Centerville, has always been VERY pro buckeye. IF tOSU wants him, they will get him. If not, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Diamonds in the Rough - Ohio | TheRinger.com

Defense: DE/OLB Ifeadi Odenigbo - 6'2 210 lbs. - 4.44 40 YD - Centerville HS

Offers: Stanford, Cincinnati, Toledo

Wait, hold on...4.44 40 time, there must be a misprint or another typical horribly misreported sprint time, right? Wrong. Anytime you?ve got a DE/OLB that can run down top '11 QB Braxton Miller multiple times, you know speed is no issue. Ifeadi could also play at DE, where his speed and burst would excel. He runs the anchor on a state-qualifying 4x100 team and also does 100/300M hurdles, not bad for being 210 pounds!

The downside (or possibly upside, depending on how you look at it) is his rawness. He's only played football for two years, so if you are looking for instant impact combined with great technique, look elsewhere. If you are looking for an incredibly high ceiling for a DE/OLB with freakish athleticism and NFL caliber speed, this is your guy. Anytime you deal with a kid from Centerville (Kirk Herbstreit, AJ Hawk, Michael Bennett, Mike Nugent, etc.) you are getting a well coached athlete.

Watching his film shows burst and speed that jump off the screen and double slap you in the face, we're talking an elite level of both here. Combine that with a frame that is versatile and you create a plethora of options in using Ifeadi. Whether he's strictly a situational pass rusher or a havoc wreaking OLB, he's a valuable commodity for any top program. Notre Dame and Ohio State have been in contact and it'd be no surprise if both end up offering. Keep an eye on Ifeadi because if the old football adage of "if he puts it all together" comes true you're looking at a future All-American.
