That would seem contradictory to his 2.5 GPA. He has very good size and adequate speed but I've not seen or heard anything about him until now. The Withers effect is continuing to put new names on our board methinks

Check him out. This kid is big and physical. I'm not a coach, but he looks kind of awkward playing linebacker. Maybe defensive end? He looks pretty darn strong.

Chuck Carree - Rayner's not finished in figuring out his future

Keilin Rayner, a linebacker for North Brunswick High School, remains one of the state's top undecided football recruits in the 2012 class.

National letter intent signing day is only three weeks away ? Feb. 1.

I know from a recent interview with Rayner that he intends to take an official visit to East Carolina this weekend and another to Duke the following weekend.

He visited Chapel Hill for the North Carolina-Louisville game in October and also has offers from South Carolina, Clemson and N.C. State.

"He is not only a legitimate Division player, but looks like physically he could step in and play next year,'' said recruiting analyst Sammy Batten.

Batten bases his opinion on Rayner's size, 6-foot-3, 240 pounds and 4.63 speed in the 40.

Nearly each recruiting site considers him a three-star prospect. Everyone projects him as an outside linebacker run stopper and edge pass rusher, but Batten has not ruled out Rayner switching back to defensive end, where he played as a sophomore and part of his junior season.

Rayner, however, excelled at linebacker with 164 tackles in the fall to nearly match a school record.
