Buckeyes were a different team tonight. They were out-schemed by Houston. Kaleb had a coat of Houston defenders, but I could never see where the open man was. Houston simply outquicked the Buckeyes. With the height advantage we had, not certain how we were outscored 28-8 in the paint? Not so much putbacks, but a lot of layups by Houston. Also, the hydra-headed turnover machine showed its ugly head. tOSU should have been up by 10 early in first half, but seven quick TO's let Houston stay in it, then the Buckeye threeballs started hitting the rim instead of the bottom of the net. As others have noted, this was a season that exceeded all mortal expectations. Muhammed most certainly is not a one-and-done guy, he has much work to do (as does Washington), on consistency, shooting, defense, and playing within themselves. We lose two pretty good guards, but believe they were outclassed tonight by Houston's. Next year, Andre Wesson is the only senior (?). Need another big to spell Kaleb, hearing rumors that Jaedee might bolt (?), and Young doesn't have the chops to play the middle. Good 4, but needs to step up scoring. Musa and CJ and Woods came on strong in the last several games, while the two freshmen took steps back. Musa, Kaleb will be upperclassmen next year, plus adding a transfer point guard that haven't really seen, plus a newbie PG and two other highly touted wing and shooting forwards. But tOSU does have it right as far as Holtmann as a coach. He works pretty hard, and he milked the players he had for the most that they had. Go Bucks!
