Here are eight sleepers to keep an eye on. These are not necessarily Buckeye-caliber recruits, but ones who aren't getting much attention right now but who should be within the coming months.

Austin Traylor 6-4 210 DE/TE Columbus Walnut Ridge
Traylor racked up double digit sacks and had over 20 receptions on offense, and showed nice athleticism at each spot. Walnut Ridge has an unfortunate history of having its top prospects having grade problems, so hopefully Traylor can break that trend.

Minnesota and Wisconsin have offered.

Michigan State has also offered Austin Traylor (there was some info out there previously that MSU had offered but that was refuted by GSN on 2/21...that info was not put out there by Austin as he was as confused by the reports of an MSU offer as anyone).

Walnut Ridge star's size, skill can fill several roles

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Austin Traylor is a young man of few words but many positions.

College recruiters across the nation agree that the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Walnut Ridge senior is a four-star prospect brimming with potential. But Traylor's blend of size, speed, skill and versatility poses a difficult but pleasant dilemma for Scots coach Byron Mattox.

Traylor started at quarterback the first four games of 2009. He eventually settled in at tight end but often was split out wide. Occasionally, he lined up in the backfield and either ran the ball or was sent in motion to confuse defenses.

On defense, he could best be described as a hybrid end/outside linebacker, but he also has played some tackle and impressed coaches with his play at strong safety in 7-on-7 drills over the summer.

So, when all is said and done, where is Traylor most effective and valuable to his team? The question stumped Mattox and defensive coordinator Charles Stewart.

"On defense, he reminds me a little of (former Beechcroft defensive end) Julian Miller, who starts at West Virginia," he said. "On offense, I'm not sure I've seen anybody his size with that much ability. I'll tell you this: I wouldn't trade him for anybody in the state."

A cousin of former NBA player Robert "Tractor" Traylor, Austin insisted that his improvement this season may not be reflected in his personal statistics.

High school football: Marion-Franklin forces five turnovers in City League blowout | The Columbus Dispatch

On fourth-and-4, Scots quarterback Fred Hardgrove threw a long pass to tight end Austin Traylor, who leapt over Strickland for the catch. As Traylor pivoted to run into the end zone, Strickland stripped the ball from behind and pounced on it in the end zone for a touchback.

"I was embarrassed because I got beat, and I immediately thought I had to do something to make up for it," Strickland said. "We all knew Traylor was the guy we had to watch out for."

In the final 30 seconds, Hardgrove hit Traylor on an apparent 30-yard touchdown pass. Traylor leapt over two defenders and into the end zone, but the play was wiped out by a penalty for an ineligible player downfield.
