thought it was worth starting a thread on this guy. saw him play a couple weeks ago. he was pretty impressive and only a sophomore, and solon plays a pretty tough schedule.

through first 7 games he has ~ 800yds and 12 Tds + 1 receiving

They run a very tough schedule. Kyle is going to have another good OL in front of him, he's gotten bigger too, still around the same height but he's added weight. They just ran a small piece about Solon and had a little about him in the Plain Dealer.

The Comets never trailed, and junior tailback Kyle Hammonds helped keep the Wildcats at bay with a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for a 20-7 lead, and a 74-yard score on a bubble screen pass from Jake Voigt in the fourth quarter. Hammonds lost his left shoe squirting out of a tackle on the latter play, and ran the last 70 yards on the slick artificial turf in his blue sock for a 27-13 lead.

"For one second I thought I would turn around," Hammonds said, "but I just ran as fast as I could and knew once I hit the open field there was nobody who could catch me.

"We knew Mayfield was one of the better teams in the area and getting this win gives us a lot of determination. We know we can go 15-0 and win the state title."

Hammonds finished with 130 yards rushing and 98 yards receiving to lead a 339-yard Homecoming effort for Solon.
