Rams thump visiting Woodward in opener

The Rams' defense pitched a shutout for more than three quarters and quarterback Patrick Coyne ran for two touchdowns as Badin thumped visiting Woodward 30-8 in the season football opener at Virgil Schwarm Stadium.

Coyne completed 6-of-11 passes for 147 yards in his BHS debut, and the junior also ran 13 times for 85 yards.

Illinois, Buffalo, & Wisconsin have offered... He's also interested in Iowa, Purdue, Michigan State, Indiana... Wisconsin told him he's athletic enough that he could play other positions if QB doesn't work out... No leader, no time table...

Badin junior QB Patrick Coyne orally committed to UC on Monday night, becoming the first Cincinnati-area player to commit to the Bearcats from the 2011 class.

Coyne, who is 6 feet 2 and 215 pounds, also had offers that included West Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, Akron, Bowling Green, Boston College, Minnesota, Buffalo, Toledo and Ohio University.

Good to see Kelly's departure isn't derailing their influx of quality talent. Its always nice when other Ohio schools do well. Last year was fun when ESPN constantly was running pieces about the "best school in Ohio..."
